Punch Graft

A punch graft is a technique that is often used on ice pick scars. The size of the punch graft is matched to the size of the ice pick scar.

The scar is treated with a local anesthetic. Then the tool is used to remove the acne scar. The area is then sutured together or a piece of skin taken from another area of the body is used to fill the area. This skin is usually taken from behind the patient’s ear.

Though a scar will result from punch graft technique it is usually less noticeable than the original and fade greatly over time.
